Dr. Smith
Dr. Smith has been in private practice since 1973 and is owner of Primary Eye Care Associates. He is active in the American Optometric Association, Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. He is a past President of Southwest Council of Optometry, past secretary of the Oklahoma Optometric Foundation, and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the OAOP from 1983-1999.
He has served as President of the Oklahoma Board of Examiners and in 1996 was selected as Oklahoma Optometrist of the Year.
Currently, Dr. Smith is on the board of directors of Heart of America Contact Lens & Primary Care and serves as advisory board member to Tulsa Laser Center, Inc.
Dr. Smith attended Oklahoma State University and Southern College of Optometry. He received his Therapeutic Drug license in 1981 and his Anterior Segment Laser certification in 1993.
He enjoys golf, woodworking and singing at First United Methodist Church. His wife, Linda, is a nurse and wellness consultant for OU Health Science Center; younger daughter Lindsey is a NICU nurse at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago; and older daughter, Lacy Crissup, joined him in practice in July 2009.
Dr. Stover
Dr. James Stover is a long-time Claremore resident, and has been practicing optometry since 1983. He graduated in the inaugural class from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. Dr. Stover is known for his sincere approach with his patients and technical excellence. Dr. Stover served on the Claremore School Board from 1985 to 2007, and his wife Carri has served since 2007. He has four children: Rhett, Mary, Casey, and Lauren. His hobbies include water and snow skiing, golf and basketball.
Dr. Crissup
Dr. Crissup is excited to be the newest associate at Primary Eye Care! She enjoys providing care to patients of all ages, but specializes in pediatrics and multifocal contact lenses. She offers vision therapy on site, and is a provider for InfantSee, which offers free eye examination for infants six months to one year of age.
Dr. Crissup graduated from NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry in May 2009, where she served as Optometric Student Association President and volunteer coordinator for optometric services at the Tulsa-area OU Health Center Bedlam Free Evening Clinic. Dr. Crissup completed her bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at Oklahoma State University, graduating Cum Laude in 2005.
Dr. Crissup's husband, Derrick, is a landman with Southbridge Production Company in Tulsa. They have a young son, Conner. Dr. Crissup enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
